Slack Tide privacy

The subscribe form asks for one thing: your email address. There are no other fields (beyond a hidden anti-bot field that humans never see or fill), and no name is requested.

Submitting the form sends your address through this site's hosting (a Vercel serverless function) directly to Buttondown, the newsletter provider. This site keeps no copy and has no database; the address is stored only at Buttondown, which processes it under its own privacy policy. Like most email services, Buttondown also records standard technical metadata on its side (such as IP address and browser/device information) to operate and secure its service.

Subscriptions are double opt-in: a confirmation link is emailed first, and nothing is added to the list unless you click it. One reminder goes out after 24 hours; unconfirmed addresses are cleaned up automatically. Every issue includes a one-click unsubscribe.

To have your address deleted, use the unsubscribe link or email macro@craigstoller.com. Provider-side privacy requests (access, correction, erasure under GDPR and similar) can also go to Buttondown directly per its policy.

Craig retains a backup copy of the subscriber list in encrypted personal storage, refreshed monthly and kept latest-only: each refresh replaces the previous copy, so unsubscribed addresses age out of the backup within a month.

The site itself records only cookieless, aggregate page analytics; the subscribe form adds nothing to that.
